Change Order

This guide explains how to reorganize your website’s structure. It covers two main areas: Sorting Pages (changing the order in the navigation tree) and Rearranging Blocks (moving content within a single page). Mastering these steps ensures your most important information is always front and center for your visitors.

Reordering the Site Tree

Your "Content Tree" on the left side of the screen determines the order of your navigation menu. If you want "Services" to appear before "About Us," you use the Sort feature. This tool provides a simple drag-and-drop window where you can see all sub-pages at once and move them into your preferred sequence without having to delete and recreate anything.

Moving Content on a Page

In Umbraco 17, most modern pages use the Block Grid or Block List. To change the order of sections on a page (like moving a "Testimonial" block above an "Image" block), you simply hover over the block until the "move" handle appears. You can then drag the block to its new position. If you are using a Grid, you can even move blocks between different columns or areas.
